The Bank of Missouri’s Investors’ Club celebrates its 30th anniversary February 2, 2020. Investors’ Club was founded as a checking account that’s more than an account. The club also offers unique travel opportunities. Why? Well, we believe we all learn more about ourselves and the world when we travel. It allows us to return to regular life recharged as well. By offering club travel, we can help take the stress out of vacation planning. And, you might even make a new friend along the way!
The club’s very first trip took place May, 1990, just three months after it was founded. Eleven members and one club director traveled to Lake of the Ozarks for a three-day, two-night trip. They picnicked at Ha Ha Tonka State Park, took a dinner cruise and of course hit the outlet stores, among other activities. Other outings in 1990 included a BBQ at Perryville City Park, an evening at the St. Charles Dinner Theater, a tour of Hermanhoff & Stonehill Winery and last but not least, seeing Andy Williams at the Fox Theater.
While the club stayed within Missouri its first year, members have since traveled all over the world. Club members’ favorite trips over the years include Hawaii, Niagara Falls, Yellowstone, New York City, California, Panama Canal, Paris and Iceland, to name a few.
In 2019, 444 people journeyed with us on a total of six trips to ten destinations. We traveled 18,008 highway miles in one year (a big “thank you” to our coach bus drivers!). 2020 is on track to be a great year for travel as well. We’re headed to Alaska, Lancaster, The Canadian Rockies, Mount Rushmore and the Greek Isles, Croatia and Italy.
